In the Schlauch Family, real estate and construction run deep. Brian’s father owned a successful Missoula based fence company, his older brother owned a luxury home building company in Bozeman and now oversees a real estate team there. Inspired by it all, it’s no surprise that Brian developed a love, passion and appreciation for them as well. As a child, he began working for his dad, eventually earning his place amongst the seasoned fencers, digging countless fence posts by hand, mixing yards of concrete and installing miles of chain link fence, all of which set the foundation for the work ethic he has today.

At Montana State University, Brian studied Construction Engineering, working his summer breaks for his brother, building high-end homes throughout the Bozeman area. After graduation, Brian continued to fuel his passion, working in Project Management for several residential and large commercial construction companies across Utah and Western Montana. Parlaying that passion, Brian became a REALTOR, focusing on Buyers and Sellers in Whitefish, with an expertise for ski properties on Big Mountain and lake properties throughout the Flathead. Brian has an acute attention to detail, is an excellent communicator and has a deep appreciation for beautiful interiors and magnificent craftsmanship. All of this gives Brian the unique ability to walk into a home, immediately get a feel for its “bones” and understand the possibilities, opportunities and potential problems it might hide.

Brian’s favorite part of real estate is living vicariously through his Buyers: putting himself in their shoes to find – and land – the right property for them. Acknowledging that a “perfect” property might not exist, Brian can see past what’s right in front of him, to find the potential, and offer remodel solutions and suggestions to his clients to help make the property “perfect.” For both his Buyers or Sellers, Brian not only relies on his work ethic, organizational expertise and construction knowledge, but also, on the relationships he’s built over his 30-year career. All of this set him up perfectly to provide an exceptional service and experience for his clients.

An avid recreationalist, Brian spends his free time hiking, biking, skiing and fishing. He and his wife of 23 years, Cari, have a place on Echo Lake, where they spend their summers boating, surfing and playing cornhole and horseshoes with their amazing kids, Saylor and Jaxsen, as well as their family, friends and two goofball goldendoodles, Murphy and Maverick.
