Looking for a weekend adventure? Head to the Polebridge Mercantile, which opens tomorrow, for their famous huckleberry bear claw. The “Merc” as it’s known, has been in operation for over 100 years, serving visitors of Glacier National Park and those exploring the North Fork of the Flathead River. Check out their hours and details HERE.

3.

Are you considering a vacation to Flathead County? A recent study from the University of Montana shows that Flathead County has the most short-term rentals statewide. Short term rentals (STRs), defined by those with a maximum 30-day stay, saw more than 12,000 options across the state. Flathead County, home to Whitefish and the north side of Flathead Lake, had the most per county, at 2,814 known units. Even with those high numbers, many rentals book up quickly. Email us if you’d like some advice on where to stay. Read about the study HERE.

4.

For those looking to get into Glacier National Park this summer, be prepared: there might be a reservation system for cars on the Sun Road corridor from June 1 – Labor Day. The plan is not yet set in stone, so if you’re planning a GNP getaway this summer, make sure to check back on their website HERE. Read more about the reservation system HERE.

5.

Great news from the other side of the park – Blackfeet Nation Council voted unanimously to open the east entrance to Glacier National Park for the 2021 season. Having been closed all last year due to COVID, the west side of the park experienced massive traffic back-ups. Hopefully this will help alleviate some of the pressure this season. Read about the decision HERE.

6.

If you are considering a trip to the Flathead Valley this summer, you’re in luck – Glacier Park International Airport has announced the addition of 1 new carrier and 3 new routes this summer. JetBlue Airlines is the newest carrier and will bring 3x weekly service to John F. Kennedy International Airport in New York City in July and August while American Airlines will add a Saturday service to NYC LaGuardia and a Sunday service to Charlotte, North Carolina.
