Winter Activities in Missoula

Whether it be cozy experiences inside or recreational activities outside, we love wintertime in Missoula. Here are a few of our favorite activities we’re indulging in this winter:

Missoula Public Library

Taylor Boynton, mom to toddler Henry, says: “I love the Missoula Public Library! There are so many interactive activities for kids!”

Skiing

Missoula is fortunate to have not one but several ski resorts to enjoy on a powder day (or not):

Montana Snowbowl
Just 15 miles from downtown Missoula, Snowbowl features fantastic trails great for beginners and deep bowls that the local experts love to explore.

Discovery Ski Basin
Located in Philipsburg, just 76 miles southeast of Missoula, sits Discovery. Many advanced skiers and riders prefer this terrain, as it features a pretty incredible backside for some series vertical.

Lost Trail Powder Mountain
Located on the Continental Divide on the border of Idaho and Montana, just 90 miles west of Missoula, in Connor, MT, sits Lost Trail. Only open Thursday-Sunday, this resort offers great trails at an affordable price.

Explore Missoula’s Dining Scene

While we are lucky to have so many fantastic restaurants, the Selling Big Sky Team can’t say enough about Tres Bonne, a new French American restaurant in downtown Missoula.

The Ultimate Girls Day

If you find yourself out near Stevensville, Montana, we recommend booking an appointment at The Hat Bar, where you can create your own custom hat. Follow it up with dinner at Mission Bistro, another French-inspired restaurant (see a theme coming from our team?) in downtown Stevensville.

Spa Day

The Selling Big Sky Team is obsessed with the Montana Center for Facial Plastic Surgery, specifically, their hydrafacial. Montana’s cold, dry weather certainly zaps any moisture from our bodies, and this facial in particular is “game changing.”

Book A Private Igloo

At Highlander TapHouse in Missoula, you can book your own private Igloo! These luxury, heated igloos have their own private fireplace and accommodate 6 people, perfect to enjoy a few brews and snacks while enjoying the snow (with a bit of protection!)
